Magickal Imbolc: A Poem

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.   Today’s post is a poem about the magick of Imbolc.   Imbolc is usually officially celebrated on February 1, which is this coming Thursday.  In fact, Ireland made Imbolc an official holiday just last year, as St. Brigid’s Day, which is their first legal holiday in honor of a woman (St. Brigid of Kildare, who many of Celtic belief see as a human incarnation of the Goddess Brigid, who is the main deity associated with Imbolc)!   I also want to note that Lunar Imbolc was this past Thursday on the Full Moon in Leo, so I thought it was the ideal time to post this poem!

Magickal Imbolc

by Maranda Wabik

Lady Birch tree decked in white

Pale limbs dance in the moonlight

Regal swan white and pure

Woodland Nymphs demure

Amongst the Dryads and Satyrs

Firelight revelries are for now

Not later

The Festival of Brigid

The Feast of Imbolc

The bright enchantment of magick

As the Crone turns to Maiden

Snowdrops grace the forest floor

Looking to implore us to

Celebrate with childlike wonder

The beauty of subtle allure

Turn of the Wheel from Dark to Light

As the frost melts and soft greenery returns

The Holly gave way to the Oak

The year now waxes in light hours

Oh what pure powers allow us

To perceive the truth of

Mother Nature’s great relief!

Youthful Faery Maidens dance

In great devotion to the beauty of the Woodland

The poetry is in motion!
