Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings. This first Femme Fatale Friday of 2024 is going to be a little bit different. I am going to focus on advice from the Goddess for the New Year. I will be looking at the stories of some of my most beloved Goddesses and how they related to and dealt with change and apply their tales to some New Year’s advice to make this new chapter a good one! This post seemed like a fun way to start a brand new year full of Femme Fatale Fridays, and I hope you all agree. Without further ado, here’s the Goddessy advice!
ADVICE FROM MORGAN LE FAY
~Never forget that you are tested so that you can prove yourself capable of being a Knight, a King, a Faery Queen~
~This piece of advice is shown in many legends of Morgana, being that she is a true Faery Queen who tests Knights and Kings to prove they are worthy of the role they were given. Possibly, most famously she is in this role in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight!
ADVICE FROM BLODEUWEDD
~Do not allow being cursed with something against your control to take away your Sovereignty, embrace your fierceness~
~This piece of advice is from the fact that Blodeuwedd is cursed with becoming an Owl after having made an attempt on the life of her husband. However, she teaches us to embrace our own fierceness and embrace our Sovereignty through the act of being pushed into new states of being! Transformation catalyzes change and true growth, after all.
ADVICE FROM RHIANNON
~Never let people who judge you get you down, hold your head high, and remember you are a Queen~
~This piece of advice is from Rhiannon’s famous punishment. It was a truly unjust punishment, as she had never harmed her son, but instead of fighting against the punishment, she took it with her head held high! That level of perseverance is a great lesson going forward this New Year.
ADVICE FROM PERSEPHONE
~Embrace your uniqueness and all aspects of your personality~
~This piece of advice comes from Persephone being both a Spring Maiden and an Underworld Queen. It is important to truly embrace all sides of our personality! Never let others tell you that you cannot be something simply because they see it as being in contradiction to other aspects of your personality.
ADVICE FROM APHRODITE
~Never let your insecurities keep you from achieving your goals~
~This piece of advice comes from all of the times that Aphrodite let her jealousy get the best of her. This advice is to not let your insecurities keep you down, which I think is a great lesson to take from all of these various tales!
