Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.   For today’s post, I have decided to share what some of my favorite holiday gifts that I received this year are.   I was very lucky to receive some really amazing gifts this year, especially from my husband Andrew and best friend Daisy!    They both know me very well and chose some spooky gifts for this Yuletide season.    I consider this to be an appreciation and gratitude post!   I think it is important to remember to take some time to show gratitude to our loved ones for all that they do for us.   We do that by giving them thoughtful gifts, be they handmade, gift cards, or specially picked items, but we also do that by being truly thankful for the time they spent choosing our own gifts for us!

THE FOLK OF THE AIR TRILOGY BY HOLLY BLACK

~This is a book series I have wanted to read since I first heard of the release of the first book in the trilogy, The Cruel Prince.   I did not want to have to wait in between the release of each volume though, so I waited until the series was complete.   So this year I asked for this high fantasy trilogy for one of my Yule gifts.    Andrew happily got me this gift, and I am thoroughly enjoying the books so far, and I plan to review the series in full here once I have finished the third book!

THE HERBALIST’S GUIDE TO FORMULARY BY HOLLY BELLEBUONO

~This is another book I asked for after having been recommended the book by my herbalism teacher, Suzanne O’Gara as an ideal read for those looking for a more advanced herbalism text!   I am very thrilled to have received the book from Andrew, as it will be an ideal resource for when I begin selling my herbal wares. 

NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS TAROT DECK

~Daisy gave me this Tarot deck which I have wanted since it was released, and I am so excited to have this spooky novelty deck!    I am very grateful to be able to add this deck to my collection.

JACK SKELLINGTON TREE ORNAMENT

~This is the gift that I received from my husband’s uncle and his girlfriend.    It was very thoughtful of them to give me a gift that featured one of my favorite spooky characters ever!

BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN PURSE BY TRICK OR TREAT STUDIOS

~This is what I purchased with the holiday money that I received from my father-in-law this year.    I have wanted this green and black, glow-in-the-dark bag for well over a year now.    However, I waited until I was able to purchase it with holiday money since I did not want to splurge on this purse for myself on a whim!

WOVEN SILVER BRACELET

~This is my favorite gift my parents gave me this year!   A lovely woven and braided silver bracelet that looks like lovely Celtic knots twined around my wrist.   It is stunning in its intricate design!

ROCKY HORROR SHOW BOARD GAME

~This one is such an awesome surprise!    Daisy found this 50th Anniversary (of the original stage show) board game.    I had no idea this game had even been released, but I was beyond delighted to receive this gift.    We played the game twice on the night when we exchanged gifts, and it was very fun!

GIFT CARD TO MY LOCAL ODDITIES PARLOUR

~Finally, my favorite gift of the year was my surprise gift from my husband.    Andrew decided to give me a generous gift card to my favorite store in the area, which is my local Oddities Parlour!   I will be able to have a day of a little spooky shopping spree thanks to this very thoughtful gift card!
