Cozy Enchantress Activities for Winter

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.   Today’s post is my list of suggestions for Cozy Enchantress Activities for Winter!   As this is the season when many of us stay inside and rest ourselves, it is a time to look for indoor activities.    Without further ado, here’s my list of suggestions!

READING: FAIRYTALES, FANTASY NOVELS, OCCULT

~Some of my favorite wintertime reads have always been old fairytale collections, especially those devoted to winter-themed tales.    I also adore reading fantasy novels and occult literature all year round, but with the Winter weather being so cold, it is the best time to stay inside with a great book!   No matter your personal favorite genre or author, I suggest that you brew yourself a cup of tea and cuddle up on the couch with a book.

WATCH FILMS: HORROR, HOLIDAY, COMEDY, CLASSICS

~I love watching my favorite films when the weather turns bitterly cold!    Holiday films, horror films, and comedies abound, and even those that are a combination of all three.    I am also a huge fan of classic films and Old Hollywood, as many of my regular readers will know, and cozying up with one of my favorite vintage films is also an incredible way to spend a cold Winter night!   Of course, this also means viewings of my favorite holiday film,  A Nightmare Before Christmas.   No matter the title, I suggest you pop some popcorn and watch an old favorite to help make your night!

MEDITATION

~When the plants die off and the animals hibernate, it is the time to turn within.   Although meditation is useful and important all year round, it becomes ever more profound in Winter.   Delving into our innermost selves helps us to become more self-actualized!   Even if it is just a short five-minute guided meditation once a week, any little bit helps you center yourself.

CANDLES, INCENSE, BLANKETS

~Setting the scene within your home with good-smelling candles, incense, and cuddling with blankets is an ideal way to enjoy the long nights spent at home!   I know that I personally cannot have a comfortable night at home without candles or incense to make sure my home smells amazing.   I also absolutely adore blankets for their warmth and softness.   Putting it all together makes a sweet-smelling and cozy cocoon of Winter warmth!

TEA CEREMONIES

~Drinking tea with the intention of deepening into meditation, and finding new insights about yourself is part of holding your own Tea Ceremony.   A Tea Ceremony can be as simple or complex as you desire to make it!   It can involve creating your own tea blend, steeping it for a specific number of minutes, and sipping it a specific number of times before entering into meditation or hedge crossing.   It can also just involve brewing your favorite blend that opens you up emotionally or psychically, drinking it, and then meditating.    That is the beauty of Tea Ceremony, it is a personal thing to the one who is conducting it for themselves!

DIVINATION

TEA LEAF READING

~Brewing a tea to drink with a question in mind is the way to begin a Tea Leaf Reading.    The images found within the bottom and sides of your teacup can give immense insights into your future!   This is the newest form of Divination I have been working with, but I have found a profound sense of ease in interpreting this type of message very quickly.   Clearly, the act of reading the leaves is something I jive well with!

MIRROR SCRYING

~A favorite divination style of mine is to scry into the dark depths of a black obsidian mirror!    So much insight, inspiration, knowledge, and even hedge crossing can be achieved through mirror scrying!   It is a great way to heal any wounds you may have on a spiritual or emotional level as well.

TAROT

~I read Tarot for myself every single morning, no matter the season.    It is the ideal way to get a deeper insight into your own personal spiritual development!   As with the other types of Divination, there is so much insight to be gained by reading your cards.    I find that Divination relates to meditation, as both can be used as tools for spiritual development and help us go within and focus on our inner worlds, making them both excellent ways to honor the dark and cold nature of the Winter season!

KITCHEN WITCHERY

COOKING

~Even the most simple daily meal prep can become a magickal experience, where the mundane is magickal.   All you need to do is stir intention into your food and make cooking magickal!   The same goes for brewing your coffee or tea, the intention and enchanting of your food and drinks is much simpler than many realize.

BAKING

~The same as cooking, baking can also make the mundane magickal, with enchanted baked goods!   This goes back to the old adage that the most important ingredient while baking is ‘love’ as the idea of adding love into your baking is infusing the food with enchantment and blessings!

INFUSIONS

~Using oils to extract potent elements from plants allows for a beautiful magickal infusion to occur!   Although infusions can be used to describe nearly any brew of plants and liquid, most commonly herbalists will use the term infusion to refer to oil infusions.    These infusions can be used to dress candles, or even make a dressing for a salad if you want to add them to your cooking part of kitchen witchery!

SALVES

~If you add wax to your infusions you can create magickal healing and skin nourishing salves!   It is just another way to add enchantment to your work in the kitchen!   Plus these salves can help protect the skin against the harsh coldness of Winter air, which can chap and irritate sensitive skin.

~I hope you have enjoyed this post of holiday recommendations.   What are your favorite Wintery activities?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
