Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings.   So today I am doing yet another Tarot Archetype post.   I am going to be focusing on the very Earthy and grounded Divine Feminine Archetypes.    The Empress, the Queen of Pentacles, and the Queen of Wands are the cards that I am going to be focusing this post on!

The Empress is very truly the Divine Feminine in the material world, the physical realm.   She is the Flower Bride and Goddess of Sovereignty whose marriage to the King grants him his right to rule!    Overall, the Empress symbolizes abundance, fertility, sexuality, and the energy of the Earth made manifest in humanoid form.    The Queen cards can be said to symbolize the two Major Arcana cards with Divine Feminine energy.   In the case of the Empress, the Queen of Pentacles and the Queen of Wands embody specific aspects of the Empress’s energy.

The Queen of Pentacles is the Earth element and the fertility of growth that can come from the true prosperity and abundance of the Earth herself.    The Queen of Wands is the Fire element and the passion and creativity of the warmth of fiery sexual allure.    Between the two, they are energies that combine to show the very grounded and Earthy nature of the Divine Feminine.    Not the ephemeral link to the higher realms that are seen with the High Priestess, the Queen of Cups, and the Queen of Swords, but instead grounded in the physical plane.

The Queen of Pentacles is a lover of the sensuous side of life.    She makes the world around her inviting and welcoming for those she wishes to nurture.    The Queen of Wands is the life of the party.    She makes the world around her alight with the vast energy of creativity.   Embracing the Queens of Pentacles and Wands is an important step to activating the Divine Feminine energy of the Empress!    Over the last year, I have deepened into my Queen of Pentacles energy especially.    I have already written about this journey to more fully realize the importance of the Earthy side of Divine Feminine within my own life.    I have always had an intimate and incredibly deep link to the Earth element, even as I believed I was more deeply connected to Water, and as I have grown over the last year, I have been able to truly activate this aspect of myself!    

I have also been activating the Queen of Wands through the connection to my Leo Ascendant in my Natal Chart.    I can see that the fiery nature within me, and the sunny energy coming forth to illuminate my personality shows a connection to the Fire element.    By connecting to each of these, I am more deeply acknowledging my inner Empress!    She is Morgan le Fay in her Queen of Avalon and Queen of the Underworld aspects.    She is Blodeuwedd in her Flower Bride and Sovereign Queen aspects.   She is also Guinevere in both her May Queen and High Queen aspects.    Overall, the Empress is the rooted and fertile side of the Divine Feminine.   This does not mean that she is only love and light because there are shadows in each of the Goddess energies that I have mentioned.    The Empress in general has Shadows of subservience to the extreme and giving up on her own sovereign power.    We see that all three of these Goddesses overcome this Shadow aspect of the Empress to regain their own personal Sovereignty in their legends!    However, the Dark Goddesses can just as easily embrace the Empress not only in her aspect of fertility but in particular in her aspect of being the true chooser of the King and the one who denotes the mantle of Sovereignty upon the ruler!
