Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings!   Today’s post is all about developing a personal relationship with plants and combining all of these relationships into a Materia Medica and Materia Magicka, which is a medicinal herbal apothecary you can use because you have knowledge of the herbs and a magickal herbal apothecary you can use because you have knowledge of the herbs.    This all begins with realizing what sort of medicine and magick you most resonate with because this is likely the herbs and plant allies that will also bond most seamlessly into your life.   For me, this means herbs for Love, Lust, Fertility, and the Womb.   For me, this also means herbs for Psychic Ability and the Underworld.    The usage of these types of herbs in my practice is unsurprising, as I have always been very in tune with Sacred Sexuality and Psychic Connection with the Chthonic (Underworld).   It is deeply rooted in my nature as a Faery Enchantress, after all, Faery beings are by nature both very sexual and very psychic, even being known to gift humans they favored with The Sight (Psychic ability to perceive the Fae), plus the Realms of Faery are also the Realms of the Dead!   I will go over the different herbs I have within my current working Materia Medica/Magicka.   I want to state that I do have other herbs which I have knowledge of and do work with, but these are the ones I would confidently use in herbal medicines which I would give to others and in my own magick!

~HERBS OF LOVE, LUST, FERTILITY~

~Nettles, Hawthorn, Lady’s Mantle, Red Clover, Red Raspberry Leaf, Rose, Blue Lotus, Damiana, & Apple.   Each of these herbs is very important to build up fertility and aid in womb health.    In the case of Blue Lotus and Damiana they are also excellent herbs of lust, aphrodisiacs that are beneficial to both men and women.   You can use all of these herbs to create blends to help gain inspiration and sexual allure, and aid in conception!

HERBS OF PSYCHIC ABILITY & THE UNDERWORLD~

~Rosemary, Elder, Mugwort, Wormwood, Vervain, Lavender, Centuary, Blue Lotus, Damiana, & Apple.   Each of these herbs can help to enhance psychic ability and increase awareness of psychic and paranormal phenomena.    In the case of Rosemary, you have the added benefit of being able to aid in the memory and remembrance of long-past ancestral knowledge.   You can use all of these herbs to create blends to help gain insight and connect to the spiritual realms, that of the Underworld and Faery specifically!

~HERBS THAT ARE BOTH~ 

~BLUE LOTUS, DAMIANA, & APPLE!    It is a benefit to be able to have herbs that can do both actions.   Apples are associated with fertility and love spells, but they are also the fruit of the Dead and Immortality!    Blue Lotus is powerfully psychic but is known for its aphrodisiac properties.    Damiana is known for all of its sexual and creative associations, but is also a great healer of traumas!
