Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings!    Today’s post is a special announcement that beginning tomorrow I will be doing this year’s Gothic Romance Week.   This will likely come as no surprise to regular readers, given I do Gothic Romance Week every year for the week leading up to Samhain/Halloween.    However, I always like to have a post announcing the week, especially to announce the more specific theme, as I have really enjoyed giving my annual theme weeks (I also do Love Week annually leading up to Valentine’s Day) more specific themes.   

For 2023’s Gothic Romance Week I have decided to do that more specific theme in hopes of making more cohesive content throughout the week.    The theme of this 2023 Gothic Romance Week is The Phantom of the Opera!    I do not think this theme will surprise many people, as this has long been one of my two favorite novels, and my favorite musical of all time!

I actually asked everyone on my Discord Server last year what they preferred for a theme, The Phantom of the Opera or Edgar Allan Poe.   Poe was the winner, hence why last year’s theme was his works of literature.   However, I could not get the idea of doing a week-long deep dive into one of my two favorite novels for my favorite time of year out of my head.   That is why I chose The Phantom of the Opera as this year’s Gothic Romance Week theme!   I do hope everyone will enjoy joining me on this Phantom exploration that I feel truly suits the Spooky and Eerie nature of the Season of the Witch perfectly.   Do you enjoy The Phantom of the Opera?    Are you excited for this year’s Gothic Romance Week?    Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
