Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings! Today’s post is about the Wild Enchantress Path and the Season of the Sorceress. I am so excited to discuss this topic, as we are firmly entrenched in the middle of the Season of the Witch. This is very much a Witchy Season post in my Faery Lifestyle series. This is how a Faery Enchantress works her Sorceress Magicks during the Spookiest, and Happiest, Time of the Year!
I have said this many times before, and will never tire of repeating it, a Faery Witch is by her very nature also a Shadow Witch! This shadowy nature of Faery is shown in the very Misty and Liminal Energy of the Realms of Faery themselves. Avalon, my most beloved Faeryland, that Blessed Isle of Healing, is surrounded by Mists that must be parted in order to reach her shores! We part the Mists of Avalon by delving honestly into our own Shadows in order to reveal intimate truths. Once we have confronted and integrated our Shadows, Avalon is ready to let us make our way to her shores. The Shadow Work does not end there, for Morgana is the Lady of Avalon, and she will not let us pretend that one round of Shadow Work is all it takes. In order to embrace our Sovereignty, we must continually reevaluate our own Shadow desires and fears!
On the shores of Avalon, we also meet other Goddesses of Sovereignty like Rhiannon and my beloved Blodeuwedd. Both stand alongside Morgana in the belief that we must work through our Shadows to embrace our own innate Sovereignty! The Dark Goddesses of Avalon will not simply allow us to half-ass our way through the Dark Nights of Our Souls. We must be active participants in our Soul’s Shadow recognition and the unfolding of our most potent and magickal selves! When we come to the shores of Avalon with honesty and walk deeply into the Orchard of Avalon desiring to learn more about our deepest yearnings, we are doing the work of the Goddess.
She will suffer no fools if we continue to lie to ourselves, but if we admit to our fears and our insecurities, she will help us work through the negative patterns in order to break free. Morgana will teach us how to embrace our own innate strengths in order to become the most actualized versions of ourselves. She only asks that we commit to walking our Path of Truth, and she entreats us to embrace the energy of her sister Goddesses who want the same thing. That is where Blodeuwedd comes into my Spiritual Path so deeply, Blodeuwedd reminds me to view my body and my sexual nature as truly Sacred. Blodeuwedd also reminds me that I become my most Sovereign Self, by turning away from that which is not my will. Embracing instead my true path and living out loud in my truth, makes Morgana and Blodeuwedd feel pride to have me as their Priestess!
Shadow Work is incredibly potent and aligned with certain times in nature. The Dark Moon is the cycle most associated with Shadow Work. Likewise, this time of year, Samhain Season, is very interwoven with Shadows. The Shadows which we must work through in the Dark Half of the Year in order to have a clean energetic slate for Spring! Other than the Shadow Work, the Wild Enchantress Path is firmly aligned with Spell Working and Divination, which is a very large part of many Priestess and Avalonian Paths. Spells and Divination are likewise very associated with Samhain, bringing this full circle!
Much of this post is based on my own work as an Enchantress, Sorceress, and Priestess. I hope that this inspires others who read it to begin to live their most honest lives! This is but a small bit of the whole magick of the Priestess Path of Avalon. So much is meant to be a Mystery, shared only by the individual seeker and the Goddess. But sharing of the beauty of this path, by explaining some of the nuance of what it is like to walk this path helps others find the Goddesses of Avalon in their own lives. That is how the community of Avalonian Devotees grows, and it is how we learn more about ourselves through communion with Goddesses of the Holy Isle!
I hope that you have enjoyed this short look at the potency of the Path of the Wild Enchantress. What is most intriguing about this path to you? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
