Enchantress, Shadow Queen, Wild Woman Mystic

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings!   This week’s Femme Fatale Friday is going to be talking about three different feminine archetypes.   This is a bit of a different Femme Fatale Friday post, as it is not about a specific character or historical figure, but I feel this will be an interesting change-up!   These are three archetypes that I feel a special connection with, as they are active within me.   Each archetype can be seen as associated with many Goddesses, which can help us understand how the energy of the archetype works.

ENCHANTRESS

~The energy of the Enchantress is the archetype that has been present and active in my life since birth.    In the Goddesses in Everywoman books by Jean Shinoda Bolen, this archetype is simply called the Aphrodite archetype!   She is the archetype of Alchemy, Creatrix Energy, and the Lover.   Both inspired and the inspiration to other artists, she is the archetype of Divine Sexuality and Divine Artistry!   Both Lover of Knights and Kings, as well as a Proponent of Self-Love and Healing Through Alchemizing Pain into Power!   Other Goddesses with this energy, in some way, are Freya (especially in her roles as a Love, Sex, and Magick Goddess), Aine, Maeve, Morgan le Fay (in her roles as Faery Lover and Healer), Guinevere, Blodeuwedd, and Rhiannon!

SHADOW QUEEN

~The energy of the Shadow Queen is the archetype that has been present and active in my life the second longest.    As a secondary archetype, it is not quite as strong as my primary archetype, but it is still very strongly present within my personality.   In the Goddesses in Everywoman books by Jean Shinoda Bolen, this archetype is embodied by Persephone in her Underworld Queen aspect (which is not discussed nearly as deeply as her Maiden aspect in the book) and later by Hekate (in Goddesses in Older Women).   She is the archetype of the Sorceress, the Underworld, Shadow Work, the Unconscious Mind, and Deep Insights of Prophecy.   Both Psychopomp leading the Dead to the Otherworld and Light in the Darkness illuminating Innate Truths!    Other Goddesses with this energy, in some way, are Freya (in her role as  Queen of the Valkyries), Morgan le Fay (in her role as Sorceress, Psychopomp, and Ruler of an Isle of the Dead), Rhiannon (with her Adar Rhiannon whose song can “raise the dead and lull the living to sleep”), and Cerridwen!

WILD WOMAN MYSTIC

~The energy of the Wild Woman Mystic is the archetype that has been present and active in my life the third longest.   As a tertiary archetype, it is not as strong as the previous two but still has a very powerful energy.   In the Goddesses in Everywoman books by Jean Shinoda Bolen, this archetype is embodied by Artemis!   She is the archetype of the Wild Woman in the Woods, the Huntress, and the Mystical Protector of the Forest.   Both Witch in the Woods Sharing her Knowledge and Fearless Warrior Living Life by her Own Rules!   Other Goddesses with this energy, in some way, are Morgan le Fay (in her roles as Healer in the Woods and Sorceress Trapping Unfaithful Knights), Melusine (in her role as Guardian of the Well before she meets her husband), Arianrhod, and Cerridwen!

~I hope that you have enjoyed this look at three powerful archetypes.   Do any of these seem to fit you?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
