For today’s post, I have decided to take a chance to discuss a new series of posts here on White Rose of Avalon. I want to do a series of posts that will be magical analyses of witchy and other magical media properties. I plan to do posts on episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, as well as films like Practical Magic. Over time I will include several other titles as I see how the series of posts is received by my readers. I do already have several posts in the series ready to go, so I hope that they are enjoyed. While my favorite series of all time is Charmed, I do not feel that it would be a good series to include here since the magic is not very rooted in reality, however, I may do a post including the magic used within the series that is more rooted in actual magical practices, as well as analyzing the folklore and mythology used!
This new series of posts will be all about the Magical Media properties that use a more real-world approach to how the magic is portrayed. I am so thrilled to be getting to share my opinions on how magic is used in some of my favorite examples of Magical Media. I have seen videos done like this, such as on HearthWitch’s YouTube channel, and I am a fan of her channel, so I am happy to admit those videos are part of what inspired this series. I want to take the concept and relate it not only to the usage of old folk traditions, magical realism, and references to other magical lore but also to analyze how this relates to my own spiritual life. I hope that my readers will enjoy reading my thoughts on different versions of Magical Media properties! Are you excited about my new series that will be premiering here tomorrow?
