Welcome to day six of 7 Gifts of Faery Week at White Rose of Avalon! For day six, I will be focusing on the gift of Faery known as The Sight. This is the Faery Gift that I relate to the planet the Moon and therefore the day of the week Monday, which is why I am covering it today!
The Faery Gift of The Sight is connected to the Third Eye Chakra and therefore the color Indigo. This is the Chakra deeply connected to the Moon and therefore it is most empowered on Monday, the day ruled by the Moon. It is also highly empowered on the Full Moon. The Gift of the Sight is one that is intimately connected to old Faerylore as being something that was in fact gifted by the Fae folk to select humans. By working with the Gift of the Sight we are getting to know the Faery realm in greater detail than those that remain blind to the Enchantment of the Natural World!
I love to use mirror scrying to enhance the Faery Gift of the Sight (I know I mention mirror scrying a lot, but I feel it is an essential tool to eventually master when you have a Faery Witch nature). By centering ourselves and letting our astral bodies enter the realms of Faery we are able to fully embrace the Sight and interact with our Fair Folk Friends and Guardians. It is a time to connect with the Faery Queen Goddesses and to honor the archetypes that we are currently learning to embody.
The Sight allows us insight into the possibilities of the future that is unfolding before us. In some ways, I feel that this particular gift is the most essential of all the Gifts of Faery, as it is the one that most lovers of Faery seek to possess or developed an affinity for the Faery folk because they already possessed this gift. Seeing with our Third Eye allows us to see beyond the Veil, we pierce the Veil to reveal hidden truths. We can see the Auras of those around us and learn much about who they are in their souls. We can see the Faery folk and interact with new loved ones. We can embrace our inner Faery nature by honing the strength of our Third Eye Sight!
Herbs associated with the Moon, and therefore this Faery Gift, include Sage, Pau D’Arco, Bobinsana, Chamomile, and Mugwort. Chamomile and Mugwort are the most essential for those wanting a deeper connection to their own magick and the Faery Realm. Chamomile is an herb that I firmly believe should be utilized by everyone (magical practitioner or not) to help ease anxiety!
