For today’s post, I have decided to do a countdown of my five favorite movies featuring mean girls.
Number 5: Mean Girls (2004)
~This film was written by Tina Fey and is based on the book Queen Bees and Wannabes. It was a nonfiction book about adolescent cliques for parents. She used this book to create a fictional narrative about the meanness of her character Regina George as head of her clique The Plastics!
Number 4: Carrie (1976)
~The whole point of the story of Carrie White is that she was bullied so badly by mean girl Chris that it triggered her innate powers. This ends in a whole lot of death, fire, and carnage!
Number 3: Heathers (1989)
~Every female in the clique can be seen to embody the mean girl archetype. Even Veronica, who hates her popularity and used it to become a literal killer with her boyfriend!
Number 2: Jawbreaker (1998)
~Courtney Shane is one of the most iconic mean girl characters ever! I love how to mean and controlling she is. I adore her desire to be seen as not even human (with the whole not eating in public mandate). This shows just how extreme the control of her world is.
Number 1: Jennifer’s Body (2009)
~My number one could not be anything other than this film about Jennifer Check. She is a mean girl who literally turned into a demon! She goes from mean girl to literal monster who goes around eating boys!
