My Top 5 Favorite Songs Sung by Marilyn Monroe

For today’s post, I have decided to do a companion countdown to yesterday’s post.   I will be counting down my favorite songs that were sung by Marilyn, as opposed to my favorite songs about her!

Number 5: That Old Black Magic sung in Bus Stop

~Bus Stop was one of the great films made by Marilyn and it showed her as capable of being a great dramatic actress!   She sings this song, as her character is a nightclub singer.   It is a sultry take on the old classic.

Number 4: Happy Birthday Mr. President sung to JFK at his 45th Birthday Celebration on May 19, 1962, at Madison Square Garden

~I could not do this list without including her breathy and sexy version of Happy Birthday!

Number 3: My Heart Belongs to Daddy sung in Let’s Make Love

~I adore this old Cole Porter tune that Marilyn sang in Let’s Make Love.   She dances around in a sweater over dance clothing.   It is a dramatic and well-choreographed scene that steals the show in this film!

Number 2: Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend sung in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

~This scene is beyond iconic!   She wears that pink gown and dances around with many men, not wanting love but loving their offer of diamonds!

Number 1: I Wanna Be Loved by You sung in Some Like it Hot

~I really love her version of this song!   It is so sultry and sexy, a very fitting song for Marilyn to sing in one of her most iconic films.

~I hope that you have enjoyed this countdown.   Did I include your favorite Marilyn song?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
