More Than Marilyn Poem

For today’s post, I have decided to share a poetic tribute to Marilyn Monroe.   I just had to share this, as we are coming up on the 60th anniversary of her death on August 4/5.   She likely died late at night on August 4th but was officially declared dead on August 5th.   But in any case, the world lost its brightest star in early August of 1962, so I wanted to write a tribute poem to honor her!

More Than Marilyn

by Maranda Wabik

Blonde hair

Sassy curls

Pageboy style

Platinum locks

Red lips

Spread in a smile

Revlon’s Fire and Ice

The smell of Chanel No. 5

White dresses

Accentuate

Perfect hourglass

And those famous

Breasts and ass!

Forgotten was her

BRAIN

Woman of intellect

Library of

400 BOOKS

More than

Just good looks

She was Marilyn Monroe,

But born just Norma Jean

She was More Than Marilyn!
