For today’s post, I have decided to do a countdown of the best male villains in The Vampire Diaries. Also, these are sometimes my favorite male characters. What can I say, but I have a thing for bad boys!
Number 5: Damon Salvatore
~Damon is one of the great anti-heroes in the modern television world! He begins as a very antagonistic figure in the first season, but soon became one of the main heroes in the show. He is also the main love interest of the central character, as she leaves his brother when she falls for him!
Number 4: Niklaus ‘Klaus’ Mikaelson
~Klaus is another prime example of a villain becoming a protagonist. In fact, he gets his own series in the spin-off The Originals. Klaus is a very redeemable figure, even if he does absolutely despicable things. We understand that his horrific childhood led him to make bad life choices as time went on. And let’s be honest, the werewolf gene did not do any favors.
Number 3: Mikael
~Mikael is the father of the Mikaelsons, after all the family name literally means “son of Mikael.” He is also the original vampire hunter. He is a man that hunted his own children for a thousand years and fed on other vampires!
Number 2: Malachai ‘Kai’ Parker
~Talk about a crazy witch! Kai was so bad that he had an entire prison world built to keep him from causing harm. He literally killed his younger siblings and tried to do the same to his twin before being thwarted!
Number 1: Silas
~Silas is the oldest immortal on the planet. He began as a witch who helped develop the immortality spell and then was cursed for using it to make himself and his true love immortal. Oh, not to mention that he is the reason doppelgängers exist!
