Circe Poem

For this sixth post of Poetry Week, I have decided to share a poem that I have written about the Greek Sorceress Circe.

Circe

by Maranda Wabik

Ruling on my island

Turning men into beasts

Ruling over the Nymphs

Experimenting with magic

Many call me a witch

Many call me a sorceress

Many call me an enchantress

In truth I am lonely

I am searching for love

 I am searching for understanding

I am searching for acceptance

When he came

I saw potential in him

He saved his men

Whom I had made into swine

Odysseus was worthy

I bore him sons

I was his lover for a year

I helped him on his journey

My name is Circe!
