My Top 5 Non-Fiction Mermaid & Water Magic Books

For today’s post, I have decided to do a countdown of my favorite non-fiction books about mermaids and watery magic.   This can be considered a bit of a companion piece to my earlier post about favorite non-fiction faery books!    I read a lot about faeries, mermaids, and water magic, and this list is the top five I have found thus far in my research.   Anyway, without further ado here is the countdown.

Number 5: Mermaid Magic by Lucy Cavendish & Serene Conneeley

~This is a lovely book that overviews mermaidenly water magic and ocean conservation.    It is a perfect companion to the duo’s book on faery magic as well.

Number 4: Sea Magic: Connecting with the Ocean’s Energy by Sandra Kynes

~Kynes does an excellent job presenting many useful resources.    I particularly enjoyed her seashell identification guide and her list of water faeries from around the world.   Her list of sea fetches is also interesting for those looking for aquatic magical companions!   It is a sweet little book that serves as a great way to enter the watery world.

Number 3: Water Witchcraft: Magic and Lore from the Celtic Tradition by Annwyn Avalon

~The first of Avalon’s books on water magic has great meditations.   It also serves as a great overview of several different types of water magic.   There are useful tips for working with many different kinds of water spirits!

Number 2: The Way of the Water Priestess: Entering the World of Water Magic by Annwyn Avalon

~As much as I adored her first book, the follow-up was by far superior!   The meditations are even better and I thoroughly enjoy that all of the rituals are indexed at the back of the book for easy reference.   It is a beautiful book that helps you connect to water spirits and Goddesses!

Number 1: How to Become a Mermaid: Embodying the Elemental Energy of Water by Elyrria Swann

~My number one non-fiction mermaid book is the one I have just finished reading.   It is a slim little volume that contains much real-world usage for connecting with mermaids.   The author explains her own journey to the astral realm of the mermaids and what it means to be an incarnated mermaid!   It is a book that deeply and truly resonated with me, as I could identify with the information presented within.

Special Mention: As they are not books I decided not to include them, but I wanted to mention two Mermaid Oracle Decks.   Oracle of the Mermaids by Lucy Cavendish and Messages from the Mermaids by Karen Kay are both excellent resources to deepen your psychic abilities while connecting to the watery realm of the mermaids!

~I hope that you have enjoyed this countdown.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
