For today’s post, I have decided to do a brief book review of The Way of the Water Priestess: Entering the World of Water Magic by Annwyn Avalon. I just finished reading this book, and I am so happy that I did!
I read her previous book, Water Witchcraft: Magic and Lore from the Celtic Tradition, a while ago and loved it. So I knew when she released this one, that I wanted to read it. It took some time for me to get a chance to read this, but I finally did! This is a great book for anyone who is interested in water magic or feels really pulled to learn about water spirits and Goddesses.
Annwyn Avalon does an amazing job of both giving information as well as practical skills. She begins by going over priestess history, and a more in-depth explanation of the history of women tending waters! I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style and the format of the book. The Index of Rituals and Prayers at the end of the book is a huge bonus, as well!
She encourages the reader to pick and choose what information they feel pulled to utilize in their own practice. This is no strict step-by-step, you-must-do-this guide, and that is what makes it so special! I will not go into further detail here, as I feel reading Annwyn Avalon’s words on the subject is magical itself! So I will leave off by saying I highly recommend this for anyone that wants to know more about priestess work and working with water. I hope you have enjoyed this short review. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
