For today’s blog, I have decided to share a poem I have composed about Melusine. She was a Mermaid Faery Queen from whom many medieval royals claimed descent!
The Faery Melusina

On a Saturday,
A Faery Queen
Enters a tub.
Her legs become scales.
As her mermaid tail appears.
She floats
In enchanted waters
Relaxing in the refreshing waves.
Unknowingly
Her husband is spying upon her.
A promise broken
A vow forsaken
The truth hidden
Until one day,
Anger leads the husband
To declare his wife,
A monster!
With the realization
Of Raymond’s broken vow,
Melusina abandons
The human world,
Returning to her home of Faery,
The Isle of Avalon!
