Siren Poem

Hello my Lovely readers, and welcome to day two of Poetry Week!   For today’s post I have decided to share a poem I wrote awhile ago about sirens.

Siren

by Maranda Wabik

Metallic gleam of silver, gold, and rose gold.

Shimmering, glistening of waters foretold.

Swish of a mighty tail and flowing hair within a pool of liquid fire.

Men burn with desire as they gaze into watery depths.

A faint song echos within and without,

And draws listeners to her as moths to flames.

Her powers may feel frightful,

But her aims are not violent.

Protectress of the sea and lives within it,

Her desires are to reconcile the elements.

Life and love become one;

Fire melts ice to form the seas so beloved by this faire Melusina.
