For all of us Faerie loving people out there, it is a dream to live life the way faeries would. While, most of us do not have to ability to literally walk into the Faery realm, we can still take inspiration from the fae in how we live life! I take inspiration from the fae in many ways, including in how I dress and how I decorate my home!
I wish on falling stars, especially during astronomical events. I dance around as if I live in my own enchanted wonderland. I keep plants in my home to promote both positive energy, and to show an affinity with nature. I burn incense and light candles to utilize air and fire, and I have a large collection of crystals (since like many faeries I love shiny and colorful stones)!
As I wake in the morning I can feel a fluttering at my shoulderblades, as if I actually had wings (I do not, but it would be pretty awesome). I like to dress in flowing fabrics and iridescent colors. I love to incorporate ethereal accessories, like faerie necklaces, and butterfly hair clips. I adore anything floral or star patterned.
Around the house I have images that connect to the faeries, like a mermaid painting in the bedroom, and a mermaid statue in the living room. I additionally have a faerie statue (sitting on a rose) in the bedroom. I even have a faerie ornament hung above the bed, and she watches over me like a dream catcher!
Doing my daily yoga and meditation allow me to be in a more open mindset, and that helps me feel more grounded with nature. My love of going barefoot, especially outside, allows me to connect to the earth (like the faeries would). I also am a vegetarian (specifically a pescatarian, as I still eat fish and dairy) making my diet a little more sustainable for nature. I chose this diet because I have never liked meat, and I feel much healthier since I chose this way of eating seven years ago!
I love everything iridescent and sparkling (the only eyeshadow I wear is shimmery). I sing songs to myself simply to make my day a little lighter. For holidays I always decorate as much as I can (I decorate for Halloween in September and do not take it down until after Thanksgiving).
I am a great lover of all things old and antique, and this connects to the ageless quality of the faery realm. Fairytales are still important to me, even as a grown woman I can get giddy with a good tale! The fact that I am so in touch with my childhood allows me to live in an inner world that is slightly lighter and brighter!
With my long wild hair, ethereal clothing, collection of special items, and love of animals and plants I truly feel I could have some faerie blood in me! I hope you have enjoyed learning how I incorporate a bit of magic into my daily life. Maybe this has even inspired you to embrace the magical side of things yourself!
