My Top 5 Favorite Knights of the Round Table

Today I want to countdown my favorite Knights of the Round Table.    Narrowing it down to five was quite difficult, but I was able to come up with five distinct favorites!

Number 5: Percival

~The story of Percival is one of a young knight coming from humble origins to become one of the famed Knights of the Round Table.    He goes on several adventures in order to prove his worth, and he found out that he is in fact, of royal descent.

Number 4: Galahad

~This story is one of the Grail Winner!    He is the Knight who finally won the Grail after so many knights failed.   His true heart won him the greatest prize!    He achieved what even his father, Lancelot, could not.

Number 3: Gawain

~I have already written extensively on Gawain’s story in my post about his challenge with the Green Knight.   He was Arthur’s nephew, who took on a challenge that none of the other knights dared to!

Number 2: Tristan

~The story of Tristan and Isolde is one of the most romantic of all the Arthurian tales.    He is a great and loyal knight, who happened to fall in love with the wife of his uncle, King Mark.    His story ends tragically, with him dying of battle wounds, believing Isolde has abandoned him!

Number 1: Lancelot

~It will come as absolutely no surprise to regular readers that I have chosen Lancelot as my favorite Knight of the Round Table!    I am a hopeless romantic that adores his story with Guinevere, and I truly adore the whole of his tales.   His going mad in the woods is one of the most interesting portions of Arthurian literature.   It proved that even knights need saving sometimes!

~I hope you have enjoyed this countdown.   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
