The Witch of Spring: Embracing Your Inner Enchantress

Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings.   For this week’s Femme Fatale Friday blog post, I will be discussing embracing the energy of the Enchantress as the Witch of Spring!

So, I may be biased, but my absolute favorite form of Witchy energy is the Enchantress.   After all,  there is a reason that I chose to go by the title Enchantress of Avalon!   You see, the Enchantress’s energy is inherently more Faery in nature and much more playful than the Sorceress, who can be viewed as her counterpart.   Where the Sorceress is a bit darker and more serious, and certainly packs a huge punch, the Enchantress is joyful and always embracing the new beginnings, much like the Spring season, with which she tends to be intimately connected!   In many ways, we can say that the Enchantress rules over the Spring Equinox and Beltane, with the Sorceress ruling over the Autumn Equinox and Samhain.   Both are equally powerful, but holding different flavors of magickal energy!

As I mentioned, I find that the Enchantress holds an essential connection to the energy of Faery.   She is easily able to part the Veil and see into the Otherworld.   So, that is part of why I think many of us on Avalonian Magickal Paths see the Enchantress as so connected with the Spring.   Magickally speaking, Spring, as a season, tends to be more linked to the Fae, with Autumn being more linked to Spirits of the Dead.   So, the magickal practitioner who has deeper ties to the Fae and the magick of Nature Spirits would ultimately be linked more profoundly to the Spring season!

Of course, the Enchantress energy is not only available to us at Spring, and I certainly work with embodying this energy year-round.   However, I do find that the Enchantress energy becomes extra potent as Spring fully comes into bloom.   As the flowers blossom and the Icy Waters melt, the Enchantress energy comes more fully alive!    Now, let’s look at some specifically Springtime ways that you can embrace your Inner Enchantress.

One of the simplest ways to embrace your Inner Enchantress in a specifically Springtime way is to take long walks outside, watching as the new flowers bloom.   Bonus points if you are able to gather wildflowers to bring into your home and place on your altar!   Another great way to embrace your Inner Enchantress is to create and perform Rituals to your favorite Flower Brides, or the Flower Bride Aspects of Goddesses to whom you are devoted.   For example, this can be Rituals to Olwen, Blodeuwedd, or Guinevere.   I actually have shared Flower Bride Rituals with my Patreon Members, so you can join Avalonian Rose Faery Mysteries at any of my three tiers for some specific Rituals I have written.   The third and final way that I want to mention to embrace your Inner Enchantress as the Witch of Spring is to work with Enchanting Waters.   The word Enchant is already there to answer the reason why this is connected to the Enchantress, but it is also a wonderful Springtime energy because you can use your Enchanted Waters to perform Tea Rituals with fresh herbs and flowers you have gathered from your garden (or gathered from anywhere that you know it is safe to ingest them from).   This is like embracing the dual meaning of Spring, both the Spring Water and the Spring Season in one Enchantress activity of Enchanting Waters.   You can Enchant Waters with Song and Ritual.   What matters most is your Intentions, and you will be able to infuse those into the Water with your voice, as Water has memory!   This last way that I have shared to embrace the Enchantress is one of my absolute favorite forms of Spell and Ritual, as my Enchantress energy is most deeply connected to Water Faeries and Mermaids of all sorts.

I hope you have enjoyed reading some of my reflections on embracing the Enchantress and some suggestions on how to do so in a specifically Springtime way.   What is your connection to Enchantress energy?   Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
