Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon, my Darlings. Happy New Year’s Eve! We are at the end of 2025, and are about to welcome in 2026. This leads to the old traditions of New Year’s Resolutions, which never seem to work out. That is why I do not do resolutions; instead, in the Faery Lifestyle, I like to talk about Intention Setting in a way that will grow and evolve as the year does! I actually wrote about this in more depth in my Patreon exclusive blog post from last Friday on Avalonian Rose Faery Mysteries, but today, I want to give some examples of how you can find a theme for your Intentions going into the New Year. I actually do Intention Setting Rituals at several different powerful portal times each year (like my birthday and in the Spring), but with different flavors and styles, so I will be going over what makes my New Year’s Intentions unique here! I have three ways to find a theme that I will discuss in small sections below, and you can incorporate all of them in your Intention planning, if you so wish. Without further ado, let’s look at finding a theme for New Year’s Intentions!
CHOOSE A BROAD GOAL YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE IN THE YEAR AHEAD
~This is the most basic way to find a theme for your New Year’s Intentions, as you will simply think of a specific goal you would like to achieve, but make it broad, and base your Intentions on that goal! These Intentions can be as long of a list as you want, and they should all be related in some way to that goal you have in mind. For the New Year, I like to begin small and broad in my desired goals and build over time!
CHOOSE AN ARCHETYPE YOU WISH TO EMBODY IN THE YEAR AHEAD
~If you want to go a more personal route, you can focus on Archetype Work instead of just a goal! This can be an archetype that you already have a deep connection to, or one that you want to embody more in your life. Either way, you are going to format your Intentions based on the archetype that you are seeking to embody throughout the year of 2026!
CHOOSE A TAROT CARD (OR CARDS) THAT REPRESENT HOW YOU WANT THE YEAR AHEAD TO GO
~Finally, if you are uncertain what type of archetype you wish to embody, but still want to go with a more personal route, you can shuffle the Tarot cards and let them speak to you! This is also an option if you have a certain card you already know you wish to work with throughout the year of 2026, with you choosing that archetype and energy for yourself. Of course, there is even the option of choosing a set of cards, two or three, that you wish to work with for personal development over the whole of the coming year! Remember that this is a very personal process, and that you can and should make it your own.
