Welcome back to White Rose of Avalon my Darlings. This week’s Femme Fatale Friday post is another one focused on the Mermaid Archetype, this time I will be discussing how Psychic Abilities relate to the Mermaid Archetype!
As Water Fae, Mermaids are stewards of the Waters and can help us on our journey to dive deep into the depths. There is also the fact that Mermaids are linked to the Moon, as the Moon controls the tides that the Mermaids swim in. The Moon is deeply psychic in nature, as the Moon’s energy has so much influence on the psyche of all people!
Now, this Watery and Lunar connection between Mermaids, the tides, and the Moon is the crux of how the Mermaid Archetype is deeply related to psychic abilities. Mermaids encourage us to delve into the depths of our own internal oceans, swimming the seas of our shadows to learn more about ourselves. It is once we have learned more about ourselves that we can truly begin to alchemize our trauma into something beautiful. When we know ourselves better, we can begin to open ourselves up to know others better. We can get in tune with the energies around us, and the energies that others give off, in order to become ever more deeply attuned to the world around us!
The Mermaid Archetype can become our channel into Scrying the Waters of Our Souls. Once we have done the internal work, we can begin to more deeply embrace the Oracular nature so deeply aligned with the Fae folk in general, but with Water Fae more specifically! In some ways, this aspect of the Mermaid Archetype is embracing a combination of the energies of both the Moon card and the Queen of Cups cards in Tarot. The Watery and emotional nature of the guiding dream and vision of the Queen of Cups and the shining intuitive energy of the Moon combine within this specific aspect of the Mermaid Archetype!
